Ana Pimentel is the author of the book “Unicórnios Portugueses – A história das startups de mil milhões de dólares”. A journalist, editor, author, and podcaster, she has been writing about entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology for numerous years. She began as a freelancer and later held the role of Technology Editor at Observador. Ana also hosted the podcast “A App da Vizinha” on Rádio Observador, as well as “Ideias Com Nome Próprio” on Jornal Económico. Previously, she served as the editorial coordinator at Lua de Papel (Leya) and holds a deep passion for books.

Beatriz Guimarães has a degree in History from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto and a postgraduate degree in Documentary Sciences from Universidade Portucalense. She is certified in Project Management by IPMA and CIPP/E by IAPP.
She began her professional life as an archivist and is currently the coordinator of the Information Management Systems and Business Processes area at Quidgest.
She is responsible for several innovative new systems development projects such as the CASES Accreditation Portal, the NAOS Expertise Management system, and the Legislative Information System of El Salvador.

With a background in Informatics Engineering and keen for new challenges, Filipe Marques has been nurturing the growth of Siemens’ Data and AI ecosystem. The company now focuses increasingly on initiatives to transform the everyday to create a better tomorrow.
With almost 15 years of experience, Filipe Marques started his career at Accenture in a technical role but quickly expanded his focus to include developing people and fostering collaborations with clients and partners. His data-driven approach and enthusiasm for AI have been key drivers of his career.

Hugo Cartaxeiro is the Founder and Managing Partner of Singularity Digital Enterprise and Urbiwise.com. He has also dedicated his expertise as a board member of APDC – Associação Portuguesa para o Desenvolvimento das Comunicações for two consecutive terms.
For 14 years, Hugo Cartaxeiro served as the Sales and Service Manager at Microsoft Portugal. Furthermore, his professional background encompasses diverse assignments in business consultancy, IT Services, telecom operators, and R&D centers.

João Ferro currently holds the position of Chief Technology Officer at Quidgest. With nine years’ of experience at the company, he has played a key role in designing various digital solutions using the Genio platform, contributing to its continuous development from an early stage. João Ferro is currently leading Genio’s technological upgrade efforts. His main commitment is to improve the platform’s productivity levels and its ability to create value for its users, thus ensuring that the best of software engineering is available to everyone.
Academically, João Ferro has a degree in Informatics and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and a postgraduate degree in Management in a Lean Context from ISCTE Business School.

João Paulo Carvalho holds a degree in Economics from ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics & Management and an MSc in Information Systems Management from ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, where I was also a university lecturer.

A visionary entrepreneur, he is Co-founder and Managing Partner of Intelligent Algorithms, which aims to empower companies to make their businesses smarter. He has extensive experience working with organizations on data-driven decision-making, risk mitigation, customer experiences, innovative products, and optimizing operational efficiency.

Marcelo Ribeiro has a degree in Geography and Regional Planning from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and a postgraduate degree in Territory Management with a specialization in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems from the same institution.
He began his professional career as a research fellow at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, followed by a three-year period as a research fellow at the Directorate-General for Territory. His enthusiasm and aptitude for technology led him into the field of software development. He has been part of the Quidgest team for six years, in the area of special products.
Throughout his career, he has been involved in various projects, including Learning Management Systems, management of associates such as the Ordem dos Engenheiros and the Casas do Benfica, and solutions for managing applications and processes. Recently, his interest in Artificial Intelligence has led him to integrate this technology into the company’s tools actively.

Pedro Oliveira is Dean at Nova School of Business and Economics, where he is also Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Chair Professor. He is also Professor at Copenhagen Business School; Academic Fellow at Cornell University’s Cornell Institute for Healthy Futures; Founder of Patient Innovation; co-founder of PPL Crowdfunding and member of the Environment & Sustainability Council at EDP Energias de Portugal.
Previously he was Senior Associate Dean for Faculty & Research; Associate Dean for Research; Director of the Research Unit in Business; Academic Director of the Lisbon MBA (partnership with Católica-Lisbon, Nova SBE and MIT-Sloan); and Academic Director of the doctoral program in Technology Change and Entrepreneurship (offered by Católica Lisbon, IST and Carnegie Mellon University) at Católica-Lisbon School of Business & Economics.
He was also the founder and director of several exec ed programs. Pedro also served as advisor to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education and as an International Faculty Fellow at MIT Sloan School of Management.

Sandro Mendonça is Professor at the Department of Economics, ISCTE Business School / Lisbon University Institute. He is Invited Professor at ISEG – University of Lisbon, Portugal, and Visiting Professor at the Dept. of Economics of the University of Insubria, Italy.
He was Scientific Manager of “Science and Society” at CYTED (the Ibero-American program for science and technology) and served in the Executive Board of Anacom, the Portuguese regulator for communications (spectrum, telecoms, postal, infrastructure, digital). In Brazil he is advisor to Anatel, the telecoms regulator, and in Portugal he is advisor to CNCS, the national cybersecurity authority. He is member of the AI standards technical committee 223 (International Standards Organization IECJTC1/SC42).
